The location for your engagement session is very important, it can match your style and vibe as a couple and portrait the essence of your relationship. 

Our journey as wedding photographers has given us the chance to meet wonderful people and get to know beautiful places, that's why we can share with you our top 10 locations in San Diego for a great engagement photo session, we're sure you'll love them as much as we do and will inspire you to pick the perfect one for you! 

Balboa Park

A beautiful and enormous park renowned for its combination of nature and architecture, it has everything we could ask for and more: awesome buildings, lovely gardens full of hundreds of flowers and trees of all kinds, 17 museums, the San Diego Zoo, theaters, and lots of recreational areas, cultural exhibitions and events all year round. 

Sounds pretty interesting, right?

There's  p l e n t y  of spots for beautiful photos, whether you choose it to be at an exotic garden, a hiking trail, or a bike ride, or maybe in front of a beautiful Spanish Renaissance style building with lots of colonial details.

The Lily Pond is a spot you should definitely visit and one of the most photographed in the whole park, it's such a beautiful and peaceful place, and a great location for your pictures. 

Also, the Spanish Village is one of our favorites, it's a colorful little village with vintage looking buildings and art shops, it's an amazing place because of its happy vibe which could be part of your photographs.

Coronado

This charming small town is just across the bay from downtown San Diego, Coronado is the perfect romantic getaway and has great spots to photograph. 

Coronado has elegant restaurants and bars with ocean front dining where you can enjoy a drink while watching the sunset, relax all day at the beach or have a bike ride on the beachfront boardwalk.

At the Coronado Ferry Landing you can get a glimpse of San Diego's amazing skyline and can serve us as a great background for a photo. 

With sparkling sand beaches, a main street with lots of cool shops, galleries, theaters and museums, modern architecture and the perfect weather, we're sure you'll have great moments to capture in pictures and in your hearts as well.

Cuyamaca

Cuyamaca is a beautiful lake and forest region near Julian. 

It's an ideal place to detox, disconnect from the routine and reconnect with yourselves. 

Enjoy everything nature has to offer and get in touch with fresh, clean, pine scented air, the beautiful lake and trees, it's the perfect scenario for a photo with your loved one.

If you enjoy the outdoors and nature, you can have a romantic picnic for two, camp in the woods, or hike and play around and we'll capture your essence forever.

Downtown

Downtown San Diego has great architecture, from those great, big old buildings you see at the movies to contemporary and modern facades that can add a lot of flair and style to your photos. 

You can have a pretty classy and elegant looking session in front of one of those buildings, or maybe some relaxed and hip photos while walking down the street like any other day, hand in hand, enjoying a day at a big city. 

La Jolla

La Jolla is a small beach surrounded by cliffs, in La Jolla, San Diego. 

The Cove is rich in marine life, so it's the perfect spot to observe sea life almost any day of the year. You can watch numerous species, including Leopard Sharks, Sea Turtles, Sea Lions, Dolphins and even some migrating Whales. 

Sunsets are beautiful here and can be captured stunningly at the pier, add you and your partner holding each other and that's the picture you're looking for! 

Northpark

Northpark has the coolest urban artists' murals that serve as a great background for your photos. 

This place can five your photos a cool, hip, relaxed and chill vibe. 

If that's the kind of couple you are, we say: go for it! 

With lots of colorful spots your session can't be any brighter and fun! 

Pacific Beach

What's better than a beach with your loved one? 

You have a great sight, awesome weather, relaxing waves and sand, plus good natural lighting.

There's a paved pathway from one beach to another, called Ocean Front Walk, there you can take a bike ride while enjoying the breeze and it's a great spot for a photo. 

They have a fishing pier with great views of the city and the beach, where you can have great moments for your engagement or save the date sessions. 

Belmont Park is a great location right by Mission Beach, in Pacific Beach district, there's a lot of arcade games and a vintage style fair where you can play carnival games and ride carrousels and roller coasters, sharing a yummy ice cream cone or treat, you can get such a cute photo out of that. 

There's also a ton of cool bars and restaurants with great style and aesthetically pleasing walls, décor and murals that we can use as a backdrop or scenario to recreate the perfect date. 

Point Loma

Is a beautiful location by the sea with gorgeous houses and buildings that serve as great spots for a photo session. 

This place has great views of the sea and the cliffs nearby, the architecture is amazing, there are buildings and houses considered as "architectural gems", there's even a lighthouse. 

Sunset Cliffs

This is an amazing natural scenario by the sea, here you can have the most beautiful sunsets, hence the name of this place. 

We love the warm tones provided by the sun, rocks and cliffs... that's something only this place can bring, and natural lighting can't get any better than this. 

Your pictures can be really romantic, nature driven and heart warming. 

Torrey Pines

This is our favorite beach because it is less crowded than any other in San Diego, so we have plenty of space to walk and try different angles. 

Torrey Pines is a place full of mountains by the sea, so you have the greatest sights and a beautiful scenery for your photos. 

The trees, rocks and bushes all around are perfect for your session.
